Well… what’s the difference between…
A wedding cake and a birthday cake?
A wedding dress and a prom dress?
Wedding invitations and baby shower invitations?
Wedding catering and graduation catering?
The SERVICE, the experience. It’s the amount of time, work,
and attention put into each one of them that makes the difference.
And I can honestly say, it’s because I have limited availability for wedding days. There’s A LOT of stress working weddings year after year and it requires more £’s to make it worth it to me to continue to strive for excellence in bridal services. I have limited number of weekends I can offer for weddings which warrants the price difference
In my experience as a seasoned Bridal Make-up Artist there are steps required to achieve a high quality bridal look. You gotta look your best, right in ALL lighting settings, survive all weathers conditions and most of all be camera ready all day. Also I have to bring an ENTIRE salon with me when I do bridal. There is additional insurances for my travelling salon. Special occasion and non-bridal services are usually just done in-studio and there isn’t a year long planning process for those services.
Hair and make-up for an occasion is different, you ultimately get the same skill and products used.
Special occasion hair and make-up service is for those who want to look their best, be pampered or need a helping hand. Typically they’ll be a wedding guests, heading to the races, having a baby shower, engagement party or celebrating a big birthday or wanting to put their best face forward for a dates, interviews and I’ve even done make-up for going to court! Yes my client wanted to look her best in front of the judge.
The special occasion services are mostly done in-studio, but not limited to, and are very much in-and-out appointment, self- service book online and involves very little, if any, pre-appointment consultation. Ultimately special occasion hair and make-up design is created with the type of event in mind, it’s setting whilst taking into consideration my clients natural style, comfort levels, hair and skin type, bone structure, age etc. You’ll get the VIP treatment just in a much shorter timescale.
I encourage you to do your research fully and make sure
you are getting the right level of service to meet your needs.
No one like’s a half job or to be rushed.
